SUMMARY OF CASSAVA PRODUCTION IN NIGERIA
The study covered Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State. The work studied the economic analysis of cassava production. To carry out this study, five objectives were formulated and these were; to describe the socio-economic characteristics of cassava producers in the study area, identify the farming system, inputs used in cassava production, as certain the level of production and output in the study area, to evaluate the cost and return and the level of profit, to identify the problems of cassava production.
A total of 80 farmers were randomly sampled from the study area using a well structured questionnaire. The research finding is able to establish that most of the farmers were taking the
enterprises as a part-time business. 50% of the farmers were middle age men and women. A high proportion of cassava producers were married and had no formal education. It further showed that a large proportion the farmers had been in the business between 6-10years, about 74% of their initial capital is from their personal savings. 83.8% of the cassava producers are female, the major constraints facing cassava production is lack of fund, lack of fertilizer and others.       
There is a high yield of 400 tone of cassava tuber per hectare of land and 1800 cassava stick (bundle) per hectare. Cassava enterprise is a viable business and it provides job opportunity to farmers, marketers etc, 56.3% of the farmers acquired their land by outright purchase, mixed cropping and mono cropping was practiced mainly.
Socioeconomic characteristics of cassava farmers strongly influenced the output as shown by the test of hypothesis (U) by F-test statistics. Z-test statistics was used to confirm hypothesis I, that the business in viable .

CONCLUSION ON CASSAVA PRODUCTION IN NIGERIA
The research has been able to show that cassava production is a profitable enterprise, attitude of the labour force and Government towards cassava production also brings about reduction in its growth and development in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra state. The co-operatives, should encourage farmers to go into cassava production because of its viability.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CASSAVA PRODUCTION IN NIGERIA
In line with the above findings, the following recommendation are made to improve beyond the present poor level of cassava production.
1.                  Farmers should be encouraged to live a cooperative life, so that they can help or provide for each other, in terms of money, planting materials etc.
2.                  Credit facilities should also be made available to farmers with little or no interest rate.
3.                  Extension services / agents should be made available to farmers.
4.                  Planting materials and farm inputs should be made available to the farmers at a reduced rate.
5.                  Cooperatives and farmers should be encouraged to provide farm land to facilitates the production of cassava production.
