This is aimed at studying the
prevalence of congenital malformations in Federal Medical Center Abakiliki and
Ebonyi State University Teaching Hospital. The result obtained from this study
will be used to enlighten pregnant women and the public on the possible cause
of congenital malformations in the area. Such enlightenment campaigns may help
reduce the prevalence of such malformations.
SIGNIFICANCE
OF STUDY
Malformation has been described
by many authorities as congenital abnormalities. There is no doubt that the
findings of this research work will furnish medical workers with information to
be passed on to pregnant women and the public on the possible causes of
malformation in this area. Not only will it increase awareness but also help to
ensure strict compliance with medical advice during pregnancy and as well aid
medical planning for the area.
SCOPE OF STUDY
This
research work is limited to incidence of congenital malformations of the head
and face of new born children in Federal
Medical Center
and Ebonyi State University Teaching Hospitals Medical Registry.
