With the recent high level of hacks aimed at Yahoo, the likelihood of being able to recover your yahoo security question is not going to be a walk in the park. 2. Did you use a valid phone number to which you still have access
ALTERNATE EMAIL RECOVERY METHOD
If you opened the yahoo account with an alternate email address, all you have to do is to have yahoo send your password reset details to this address
PHONE NUMBER RECOVERY METHOD
It is also possible to get a password reset link sent to your phone, so if your still in possession of the phone number used in registering the account, this is another method to use to recover your account.
