BRIEF HISTORY OF F.C.D.A (FEDERAL CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY)

The Federal Capital Development Authority is an organization that oversees and runs the administration of the federal capital and its headquarters is located at the Area 11 complex Garki Abuja. It is split into six (6) departments each with its specific functions.

The engineering service department has 3 units which include the:
·        Logistics unit
·        Administrative unit
·        Geology unit

In the unit we have a sub-department called the quality control unit. These departments are attached with a contractor (Construction Company) that carries construction work on any project that takes place in the Federal Capital Territory.
One of such is the Salini Nigeria Limited (a construction company) with its headquarters at Idu district and a yard at Kagini village where I was attached for an ongoing project.
