UNITS/OFFICERS DUTIES IN A CHURCH - WORKING FOR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART


FUNCTIONS OF THE USHER
It is the duties of the ushers to carry on the following functions:
1.         To arrange and clean the seats
2.         To uncover the pulpit and clean it before the service.
3.         To cover the pulpit after the service
4.         To usher people to their sits and direct people during the offering.

5.         To take the attendance of the people, cars etc and take the necessary record during the service.
6.         To collect the name of those that have testimonies and submit to the Associate pastor.
7.         To deliver forms to the 1st timers and new converts.
To direct, workers to sign the time book
8.         To count and record offerings, tithe etc. and submit to the appropriate quarter.
9.         To create order in the church during the service.
10.       To direct the crowd during offering, testimonies etc.

THE FUNCTIONS OF PRAISE AND WORSHIP UNIT
The following are the functions of praise and worship group viz:
1.         To lead the worshiper into the presence of God during praise and worship time.
2.         To create spiritual atmosphere during the service.
3.         To be very close to the microphone always, so as to help the man of God anytime need may arise.
4.         To back the man of God when worshiping or praising (during interlude).
5.         To make sure that all the necessary equipments are ready before praise. eg.
a.         The microphone
b.         To ensure that guitars are well tuned

THE FUNCTIONS OF TECHNICAL UNIT
These are:

1.         Technical crew should understand that they are the sound engineers, of which with out them we cannot hear. Faith cometh by hearing by hearing the word of God (Rom 10:17)
2.         To connect the instruments for sound production.
3.         To test rum the microphones and others 30 minutes before the service begins.
4.         To check the lightening system of the church.
5.         Repairs and maintain all the electrical equipment and others.
6.         Replacing spoilt equipment
7.         Regular cleaning of equipment.
8.         Stopping unauthorized person form accessing,
Touching/approaching the equipment zone.

THE FUNCTIONS OF EVANGELISM/FOLLOW UP UNIT
This includes:
1.         Collection of the new comers form and addressing them after the service.
2.         Counselling the people that gave their life to Christ and following them up.
3.         Sharing the names of new comers and new converts to the leaders for caring/follow up.
4.         Evangelizing for souls and sharing of gospel tracks.
5.         Reorganizing those who are not in the service and be able to visit them.

FUNCTIONS OF COMMUNION STEWARD/ PROGRAMME COORDINATOR
1.         Communion steward should make sure that the communion materials are ready for communion service.
2.         To stand and guide people on how to partake in the communion
3.         To wash the communion plates and cups before and after communion.
4.         To make sure that every programme is well coordinated and to ensure success in every programme.
5.         To guide and protect communion materials.

FUNCTIONS OF GENERAL WORKERS LEADERS
1.         To ensure that every unit is up and doing in their functions.
2.         To check and monitor every unit leader for effectiveness.
3.         To monitor the workers and make sure that they pray before and after every service.
4.         To communicate to the units on the latest decision of pastoral council.
5.         To make sure that the works sign their names in the time book.

FUNCTIONS OF THE WELFARE OFFICE
1.         Office of the welfare should provide hospitality to the church, members and pastors.
2.         To take care of strangers in the church.
3.         To take care of any emergency situation such as death, accident etc.
4.         To take care of ceremonies like marriage, child dedication, etc
THE SECRETARY
1.                  This is the person who deals with correspondence and routine of the organization.
2.                   To keep the record of any event that take place in the organization
3.                  To text and read the minutes of the meeting.
4.                  To present the agenda of the Meeting.
FINICAL SECRETARY
1.                  To Record every financial transition made in the church.
2.                  To record the income and expenditure and balance the acc on monthly bases.
3.                  Take make sure that any vow made is properly recorded and redeemed.
4.                  To balance the account every month and present the report to pastoral council/board members.
