Secondly, the Investment Valuations function is responsible for the over-sight of independent valuation, valuation uncertainty and control for £100bn+ of investment assets from illiquid assets such as special purpose vehicles, loans, property, private equity, OTC derivatives, to more liquid exchange traded derivatives, foreign exchange, bonds, equities and collective investment schemes
And also, this is an opportunity to lead a team of Insurance valuation experts and the development of the function and its people. The Insurance Investments business continues to grow, working with an investment strategy group that structures interesting business and responds to and plans for, the sophisticated requirements of multiple internal and external stakeholders including the PRA.
In this role, you’ll have huge opportunities to leverage relationships within LBG and you’ll be excited by the prospect of developing and utilizing existing ideas and ways of working to develop the Investment Valuations function in support of the Insurance Investments business. Our Investment Director has ambitions for the function so this role is an excellent platform to further your career as we recognize and reward talent through succession plans. Furthermore, you’ll be a qualified Accountant with at least 10 years relevant direct experience of multi asset class process/operations/valuation. Ideally you’ll have a progressive career history and you’ll need to be comfortable with senior executives, able to influence and articulate your story to a wider range of stakeholders including board members and Regulators. Based in London, you’ll need to travel occasionally to Bristol and Edinburgh.

Nevertheless, investment assets specialist (including OTC derivatives and illiquid loans) with extensive experience of valuations and risk management models in Product Control, Independent Price Verification (IPV),Valuation Control Group (VCG) or similar
Track record in managing complex issues in an investment environment, with extensive experience of leading issue resolution for derivatives, other OTC and structured products
Track record in product development for structured products, including related aspects of operations, collateral, legal, tax, accounting and regulatory;
Strong people management, development and coaching skills with a track record of managing a team with a blend of general and deep technical skills
Strong documentation skills, with an ability to document technical material in an easily digestible form for consumption by a variety of stakeholders
Strong communication skills, with an ability to communicate complex concepts and issues in a manner understandable by a range of stakeholders (from unsophisticated to deep technical experts)
