RELIEF OF NASSARAWA STATE IN NIGERIA


        It deals with high and low land altitude. The Southern land scope of the Benue trough. These plains are believed to be of tectonic origin other parts of the state are composed of undulation, low lands and a network of hill, developed on granites, migmatites, pegmatites and number of worn volcanic cones. Most pat of the state that lie within the Benue valley is composed of sandstones. However
around the silt bearing district of Awe, Azara and Bomanda are associated with anticline axis along which silt bearing beds within the synclines approach the surfaces.
            The high land areas of the state found towards the North particularly in Wamba, Akwanga area and Nassarawa –Eggon rolling bills for instance rise an average height of about 1200m. The Maloney hills in Keffi are of historical significance
