Rules of professional conduct (RPC) is established and designed to encourage professional ethics, guide and protect the integrity and reputation of legal profession in Nigeria. It also to enhance a decorum and respect for seniority in the court and beyond.
Conversely, I discovered that in practice, the Rules of professional conduct (RPC) designed to measure ethical standard of the legal profession is handled by some lawyers with a “Pinch of salt”. Some lawyers handles their client’s matters with levity leading to unnecessary adjournments and sometimes striking out of matters for want of diligent prosecution. Some deliberately make actions linger in court to continue collecting appearance fees in utter disrespect to the rules of the professional conduct (RPC).

9.         EXTERN’S REFLECTIVE ESSAY ON “THE MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZATION OF THE LAW FIRM WHERE I WAS PLACED.

The lawyers of the firm also have individual diary and also there is because list for the firm weekly prepared.
My relationship with my principal was too cordial and more of colleagues than principal-student.

11.       CONCLUSION
Externship programme is one of the most important aspect of the law school programme. It affords the students practical experience and to compare what they learnt in law school with what is obtainable in practice. I recommend that externship programme be sustained and also suggest that externs be made to be entitled to allowances.
