ABSTRACT
The fluctuations in world economies, particularly in
the developing countries, have resulted in dwindling finances, and consequent
poor funding of health and social services. Available equipment continues to
deteriorate due to lack of maintenance culture, and unavailability of spare
parts.
In the midst to these health workers, including Nurses, out of poor job
satisfaction and low morale from poor remuneration have left in their hundreds
to overseas countries seeking for better opportunities. It is the challenges
faced by nurses to practice in these periods of stress, lack of facilities,
greater accountability amidst expectations of hope from the consumers of
Nursing Care that this work addresses. This work concludes with encouragement
for nurses to make use of locally available material and technology, and to
maintain creativity in care in order to satisfy the consumers of nursing
