IMPORTANCE OF PHILOSOPHY TO PRACTICAL LIFE AND HUMAN DEVELOPMENT

Philosophy as concern with human existence undoubtedly deals with the deepest problem and issues of a man and his existence. Philosophical problem,  Koroner,  said, are those problem  that arise in the cause of trying  to  master  difficulties  in cognition. However, this legendary problem associated with   the definition of philosophy ordinarily, is an all embracing discipline, it covers both the humanities and the science.

In fact, that various specialized disciplines are only regional ontologism by their orientation and character; they deal only with fragment of knowledge hence, can only give in sufficient and penultimate of account of knowledge. For them to see knowledge in its whole, they have to go back to (their parent) philosophy the only discipline that aims at understanding the quintessential and the universal in everything that exists.

The ultima``te reality that philosophers seek to know is in contrast to the every day things of this world truly, self contained and could accordingly, be looked upon as self caused. To arrive at does full justice in explaining that is. The point is that we cannot explain things satisfactorily if we remain within the world of common sense or even if one advances from that world to embrace the world of science.

In conclusion, important of philosophy to practical life and human development is that philosophy is as love of wisdom means a continuous search for wisdom, the pursuit of wisdom not for gains but for its own sake.

Wisdom is higher than  knowledge aptly shown by Aristotle(1966:5T5-57)  according to  him, that  all men desire  to know deferent degree of  knowledge, Aristotle  also  view,  that  highest wisdom does not  aim at producing  anything or securing some effect, but at  apprehending  the first principles of  reality.

Philosophy to practical life and  development concern with all legitimate thinking of how man lives in this  would  rather than   with the ultimate nature  of being man is a centre of all thinking  he is active and  creative, he might  be other than he is, man makes his essence as he goes along. He is indeed, the focus of all activities (according Jean Paul Sartre) finally philosophy helps in development of humanity in acquisition  of wisdom  and knowledge through reasoning,  matters affecting human fate and conduct.
