The extension
economics program unit strives to lead-both nationally and regionally-in the
development and delivery of innovative educational and applied research
programs that meet the decision support needs of targeted audiences and
stakeholders. This results in more informed economics and policy choice by our
customers.
The creation of, training in, and ultimate use of these varied decision support tools lead to several important statewide objectives such as maintaining or regaining competitiveness, ensuring economics sustainability, and high degree of relevancy to the issues and concerns of commercial agriculture as well as the tax as is to maintain a business, and related communities which are mutually interdependent with commercial agriculture.

depends upon the long-term, positive impact the unit can make on the economic
vitality of people, organizations, and communities.

that we maintain an objective, unbiased approach to problem-solving and applied
research. Reported results are expected to accurately asses the situation on
ground.
Economic
activity from all components of agriculture and natural resources in Nigeria
will continue to be a significant contributor to the State’s economy and deserves
our best effort to enhance economic sustainability and ensure competitiveness.

Extension’s
overall purpose is education—education that will empower people to make
intelligent decision relating to their vocations, their families, and their
environment. Extension unique interdisciplinary perspective enables the organization
to make a real difference in the lives of Mississippians.
Mississippian
state university extension services is, and will continue to be, a leader for
positive change for individuals, families and communities through the following
ways: by providing research and education in a practical and applicable way; by
using the latest technology and teaching techniques to serve clients; by
developing and using volunteers to help disseminate programs and information;
by cooperating with other groups and agencies; and by maintaining a culturally
staff responsive to the needs of various audience at all socio-economic levels.
Agriculture
Extension and its related enterprises are of major economic importance in
Nigeria and programs and resources to reflect this importance. Quality of life
is affected by the reciprocal relationship between people and their environment
and will continue to emphasize environment issues. The critical need for human
resource development and will continue to search for ways to help families and youth cope with
an ever-changing society.
