They are categorized into two namely: Domestic and foreign policy  

1.       Education

2.       Welfare policy

3.       Housing policy

4.       Wage policy

5.       Defense policy

6.       Agricultural policy

7.       Transport policy

8.       Industrial policy 

ESSENTIAL CHARACTERISTICS OF PUBLIC POLICY

It should  be  noted that  policy making is an exercise in power, in  manipulation of  dependence relationship as much as in problem solving which inevitably involves political conflict . It involves decision makers (the actors)  acknowledged by other as having the right and responsibility to develop policies.

Implicit in this, is the idea that a few are empowered to recommend action affecting many father considering economic political and technical feasibilities of various options or  solutions to societal problems policy is not  merely a continuous process for decision   and activities. It takes place principally (through not exclusively) writhing definite organizational structure  form
