The success of any educational programme
depends on the degree of harmonious relationship that exists between the
principle and other staff member.
According to Fafunwa (1974:4) the
centralization of powers by the headmaster leads to poor headmaster staff
relationship. In addition, Fafunwa (1974:5) noted that the implication of poor
headmaster staff member relationship is the degeneration of law and order in
the school. He further noted that once a headmaster gives a teacher the
impression that his main job is to teach his subjects and carry our
instructions given to him. The teacher therefore ceases t o be
an effective
member of the administration, although, he is boldly present and leaves the
discipline to be done by the headmaster alone.
