POLICY OF REDUCING THE RATE OF EXAMINATION MALPRACTICE


In the year 2009, Ebonyi state dropped from 2nd to 12 in index of examination malpractice, due to the manifestation of the fruitfulness of initiated programes and polices of the governor of the state. This   can be seen in pg 14 of Nigerian patriots,  February   23  2009. The Hon. Commissioner For education then Mr  Agha  Sunday Okoro stated that  the  improvement of the state in the national examination malpractice index from  2nd   to  12th position is a  step to the right direction, he gave his speech in  12th edition of the WAEC  state committee meeting held  in Abakaliki

The education boss restated the commitment of the present administration to gradually but surely eliminate all factors that   fan the embers of examination malpractice through recruitment of teachers,  provision  of residence for teachers, to love at their areas of duties, and general motivation through several welfare  packages to enable them   impart in the students, desired knowledge and values.
He also re-emphatically stressed the   irrevocability   of government stance on the ban of registration of external candidates  which   according  to him had over the years paved  ways for students, who are mostly drop-outs from neighboring states to embark on examination  pilgrimage at  rural schools within the state, thereby ballooning malpractices  tendencies
