of the prevalent problems militating against proper pension
administration and suggest recommendations. A survey data collection
method by means of questionnaires
and
interview, as well as
examination of documents and observation of things were
adopted to generate the data
used to investigate the problem under study. The
respondents comprised of 300
people made up of
200 from the various local
government areas and 100
from the sub-treasury zone of
Ebonyi State. A quota sampling techniques was used to administer
equal number of questionnaires to each local government and the sub-treasuries zones on the basis
of assumption of equality of local
governments and sub-treasury
zones. The simple percentage method was used in the analysis of the data generated for the study. The hypotheses tested showed the following results. That the pension administrators are not
living up to expectation
and there are problems facing
them. That the degree of
neglect/ disregard to duties by pension officers is detrimental to retires.
That the pension administrators deployed to Ebonyi State does not have the strength, knowledge and experience to carry out pension administration
duties diligently. That the materials available at the disposal of
workers in pension office is of a very
great extent to enable them work
effectively but the reverse is the case. Finally, the summary of main findings was
made, conclusion and recommendations the
