AVAILABILITY OF VOCATIONAL COURSE IN PUBLIC EDUCATION


  Edal (1982:23) defined technical education (vocational courses ) as that aspect of education which lead to the acquisition of applied skill as well as basis scientific knowledge.       
  Recognizing the development of vocational courses, Edgal suggested that a greater proportion of the national income should be allocated for technical education by the government at the federal, state and zonal levels.

  This will improve the running of public education in Kaduna North Local Government Area in
Kaduna state of Nigeria when the national policy on education which is recognized as the e6-3-3-4 programme when it has fully taken off.
  The federal Government national policy on education (1981) listed the advantages of technical education as follows:-

1.     To improve trained manpower in applied science, technology and commerce.
2. To provide the technical knowledge and vocational skills necessary for industrialized commercial economic development and agriculture.

To provide graduates who can apply scientific knowledge to the improvement and solution to environment problem for the use and convenience of all and to give an introduction to professional.
