Hurry! the BOTY Competition is here again with new features. For you are among all those people who love hip-hop culture and life (dance, music, art) it will not be right to the 2017 edition of Battle of the Year hosted in Nigeria every year.
BOTY is the common name given to Battle of the Year, because it is an annual International Break- dancing series that began some years ago in Hannover, Germany. Before the main competition, there is usually a regional qualifying tournaments, also known as preliminaries, which are held worldwide culminating the World Finals event, which is usually held in Germany. Battle of the Year (BOTY) is widely regarded as the “World Cup of B-boying”, guess you knew that already.
Each new year, BOTY (Battle of the Year) usually features the most innovative and best B-boy crews dancers from all over the world including Africa, creating an environment for; international exchange of culture, friendship, knowledge and music. The platform is for B-boys and the Hip-hop culture across the world in general and an opportunity for all participants to express themselves in a peaceful and non-racist environment to promote peace and unity in the universe.
How to Apply for Battle of the Year (BOTY) Talent Show
Do well to read and understand the following very important instructions before starting your Battle of the Year Registration 2017 exercise online.
- All Applicants who are not available for a first round audition may still be considered for audition on the basis of a submitted DVD or video clip at the sole discretion of the Producer whose decision will be final and binding.
- Every applicant may be invited to audition for the series by researchers acting on behalf of the Producer. Such acts will be required to audition on the same basis as any other applicant and normal programme Rules will apply.
- Be aware that the completion of an application does not guarantee that an applicant will receive an audition or participate in the Programme.
- It is for citizens only, so you must be resident in NIGERIA with a valid form of identification. You will provide the Company with documentation in order to substantiate your age (i.e. birth certificate and/or valid international passport).

If you are under 18 years of age:
- You must obtain the permission of your parents or legal guardians before applying; and
- You must be accompanied by your parents or legal guardians at the audition. Proof of age will be required at the auditions.
- You must notify the Producer, in advance, if you intend to:
- Perform physical and/or dangerous stunts, explaining the full nature of the stunt; or
- Use any form of equipment required as part of your act. You will be responsible for bringing such equipment (provided it is suitable for the audition location) and are responsible for ensuring that such equipment is safe and/or suitable for its purposes. Pyrotechnics are not permitted.
