L.P.S.C.E BACKGROUND
The Liberia Primary School Certificate Examination (LPSCE) is administered to school candidates in the 6 th grade in the Republic of Liberia once a year in the month of May. The actual date for the examination is communicated to the schools through the Ministry of Education before the commencement of the school year. The Four Basic Subjects offered for this examination are listed below:

L.P.S.C.E ENTRY REQUIREMENT
The May Liberia Primary School Certificate Examination (LPSCE) is opened and administered to all school candidates in the 6 th grade in the Republic of Liberia after due registration with the West African Examinations Council. The entry period like that of the senior and junior high runs from September to December.
All candidates for the examination are to enter for all four subjects offered on the examination.
L.P.S.C.E CANDIDATURE
The candidature for the LPSCE is growing dramatically. The entry for the 2005 examination was 22,472, while that of 2006 was 25,819. The entry for the 2007 examination was 37,185 candidates, while that of 2008 was 40,746 thus showing an increase of about 9.59% over the previous year.
L.P.S.C.E GRADING
The minimum passing mark at the LPSCE is 60% per subject.
The final grade of a candidate has two components: Continuous Assessment Score ( CASS ) or School's Grade and Terminal Assessment Score (TASS) or WAEC's Grade with the Cass contributing 40% while the Tass contributes the balance 60% of the candidate's final grade.
The CASS are submitted to TAD by the various schools a week after the administration of the entire examination on a spread sheet provided by WAEC.
L.P.S.C.E RESULT/ CERTIFICATE
Results for individual schools are sent immediately to the principal of each school that presented candidates for the examination when the results are officially released.
Certificates are awarded to only successful candidates on the examination.
To qualify for a Liberia Primary School Certificate Examination (LPSCE), a candidate must pass in at least three of the four subjects offered for the examination.
