GENERAL PUBLIC PERCEPTION / OPINION OF THE WORK OF E.F.C.C

There is also a measure of success, failure and selective enforcement in the Commission. Suppressing and/ or controlling corruption requires not only the relevant institution building and legislative measures but also creating the fear against crimes, affordable commodities and enabling environment as well as requirement for establishing the rule of law.

Considering the public perception of their work, success, failure and selective enforcement in their duties, it is sufficient to say that in the public perception, the anti-corruption plans and activities are currently being perceived as witch hunting exercise.

With what hums around this anti-graft watch dog, citizens view the fight against corruption in this Nation as mere shadow chasing. The institution is seen as a grossly dependent institution, pointing accusing fingers against those that fail to support the third term bid of Ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo as well as the people who frown at the April 2011 rigged elections and the PDP elections maneuvers.

Originally, the E.F.C.C. anti-corruption strategy focuses on three intertwined essential factors: prevention, law enforcement and public support.
