THE EFFECTS OF MARITAL INSTABILITY ON CHILDREN

A CASE STUDY OF AKPAWFU COMMUNITY, NKANU EAST L.G.A,
ENUGU STATE, NIGERIA
 ABSTRACT 
Marital instability is one of the worst instabilities. This study principally identified the effects of marital instability on children in Akpawfu Town of Enugu State. The instrument for data collection used for this research work was questionnaire. The sampling technique used for this work was multi stage sampling technique, which includes clustering sample techniques and random sample techniques. The sample sizes of 160 respondents were used in this study
and the data collected were analyzed using frequency tables and simple percentages. From the analysis of the data, it was found that the effects of marital instability on children in Akpawfu Town are: Juvenile delinquency, teenage pregnancy, armed robbery, violence, prostitute and poor academic performance.
