This study is mainly a survey design, which concentrates on the Onicha Igboeze. As such I administered questionnaire to ensure a more comprehensive and workable results. The questionnaire is meant to elicit information from the sample population.

SCOPE OF THE STUDY
Due to heavy financial burden and time constraints faceting the researcher, the study will focus strictly on Onicha Igboeze community. The study will cover the prevalence of poverty and prostitution, their effects or consequences.

POPULATION OF STUDY
The population of the study comprises of the young youths, the men and the women that line in Onicha Igboeze community. At the point of the study, the total number of people that live in the area was one hundred and two thousand, one hundred and fifty one (102, 151) people (source federal government of Nigeria population 2006).

SAMPLE SIZE AND SAMPLING TECHNIQUE
To determine the sample size, a certain fraction of the total population was determined using the following procedure
                        1/x                  N/1
Where (f) stands for the fraction of the population from which one respondent is chosen and (N) stands for the total population.
3.4       Therefore, a sample size of 170 was drawn and used for the study. A sample random and sampling technique was used to give every respondent an equal opportunity of being selected and also to avoid personal bias.

INSTRUMENT FOR DATA COLLECTION
For purpose of this research, and having examined the various nature of the complexities involved in human interactions especially as it relates to poverty and prostitution issues. It became important to adopt more board based data on the study area.
We had thus, opted to utilize the questionnaire approach as well as personal interview and group discussions together the necessary information to aid this work.
In the process of carrying out this research 200 questionnaires were distributed to residents of the study area while personal interviews of 20 selected number of prostitutes were conducted together intermation. The questionnaire was based on the research questions earlier stated.
In addition to this, literature from other sources such as text books, magazines, pamphlets and newspapers were used.

DATA ANALYSIS AND PROCESSING
In view of the various nature of the causes of poverty and prostitution in the study sample population, it become possible to employ simple percentage to analyze the data collected.
In addition, most of the questions posted to respondent were analyzed in percentages. This approach was view as being able to assess the magnitude of the variability of the variable under study.
We believe that the various approach utilized to present the results of the findings will illicit deep interest amongst those who have particular interest in the problem of poverty and prostitution in our micro research area.
Lastly, about two hundred (200) questionnaires were administered to both men and women, the researcher solicited their help and co-operation. Out of 200 questionnaires given out, only 150 were returned.
