THE MEANING OF VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND WHERE THE PROGRAMMES SHOULD BE OFFERED

Vocational education is that form of education, which is obtainable at the technical colleges, this is equivalent to the senior secondary education but designed to prepare individuals to acquire practical skills based and scientific knowledge and attitude require as craftsmen and technicians at sub-professional level.
Pre-vocational educations and technical education : 
The preparatory aspect of pre-vocational training offered to students at junior secondary level is for the
purposes of:
a.        Introduction into world of technology and appreciation of technology, towards inter and choice of a vocation at the junior secondary school are professionalism later in life   
b.        Acquiring technical skills
c.        Exposing students to career awareness by exploring usable options in the world of work and
d.       Enabling youth to have an intelligent understanding of the increasing complexity of technology.
THE GOALS OF VOCATIONAL EDUCATION SHALL BE TO
  1. Provide the technical knowledge and vocational skills necessary for agricultural, commercial and economic development
  2. Provide trained manpower’s in the applied since, technology and business particularly at craft advanced craft and technical skills
