RESEARCH METHODOLOGY - ROLE OF E.T.F IN SCHOOLS

     This chapter contains the detailed description of the research procedure. It includes:
a.      Population of the designed
b.      Population of study
c.      Sample and sampling technique
d.      Instrument of date reliability

e.      Validation and reliability
f.       Precede for data collection
g.      Method of date collection

3.1 RESEARCH DESIGN
      The research used survey design in which he made use of sample survey technique to elicit information from a sample of the population.
3.2 POPULATION OF THE STUDY
     The population comprises of the primary schools in Ebyia Development Centre of Ebonyi State. There are seventy-one (71) primary school in Ebyia Development Centre with the total number of eight hundred and nineteen teachers and seventy-one school heads.
3.3 SAMPLE AND SAMPLING TECHNIQUE
     The sample for the study was randomly selected from the seventy-one primary schools in Ebia Local Government Are
      The researcher sampled two hundred (200) respondents.
     Ten (10) schools were used out of the seventy-one primary schools existing.
     In each of the sampled schools, twenty teachers were selected, making the total of two hundred respondents.

3.4 INSTRUMENT OF DATA COLLECTION
         Questionnaire, interview, observation and oral discussion were instruments used for collection of data.
The questionnaire was a structured one designed in such a way that they helped in eliciting information from the respondents. The questionnaire was administered to the teachers in the selected schools.
         The interview questions used by the researcher were non-structured type; though it provided the needed information.

3.5 VALIDATIONS AND RELIABILITY   
      The instrument- questionnaire used by the researcher in the study was presented to the able supervisor for necessary corrections and approval before it was administered to the respondents.

3.6 PROCEDURE FOR DATA COLLECTION
     The researcher obtained the data with the aid of specialized experienced research assistant. The questionnaire was administered and collected to the researcher by the school authority.
    The questionnaire was collected at a spot after permission was granted to the researcher by the school authority.
      The questionnaire was collected at a to avoid loss of some of the data.
      Equally respondents were given orientation on how to fill the questionnaire.
3.7 METHOD OF DATA COLLECTION    
      The data collected were analyzed using tables and simple percentage. In the analysis, various question were managed in such as way a to look for specific formation and thus the analysis was made in that order.
Also the researcher employed descriptive method in analyzed the data collected in his research.
