Kaduna
state is endowed with natural and human resources available land, forest,
animals, water and mineral resources. The most important mineral resources in
the state are iron, ore, tin, columbine, sand, gold etc. agriculture is widely
and largely practice in the state, there are pasture for grazing cattle in the
state. All these provide adequate food and raw materials for the state growing
population and industries and also serve as source of employment to the
inhabitants of the state, more especially to the state indigenes.
OBJECTIVE OF THE
STUDY
Usually a programme could be positive or
negative depending on the level of success. Therefore, the objective of this study
is:
1.
To
find out the ways in which women contribute to the development of educational
in the state.
2.
To
measure the degree of women contributions, the means, the tools and the
resource used.
3.
Also
to examine the socio –political and economic benefit of to the success of educational development
4.
To
assesses the impact of educational development actives on the lives of the
people within the community.
SCOPE OF THE STUDY The study is limited only to Kaduna state
particular Kaduna North Local government only the areas that has executed
education development activities that are worthy of mentioning. However is due
to the vastness and difference e in context and concept of educational
development within the local government. One of the factors that limit the
study of some catchment areas is also the culture, ethnic and religious
difference that abounds in the state.
SIGNIFICANCE OF
THE STUDY
In
this study the suggestion made can be used in the measurement of the contribution of women in education
development activities and also as a literature which can be reviewed by
various research bodies including higher institution, for further improvement
in this area.
HYPOTHESIS
The following
hypotheses were advocated to help us carry out this research work:
a)
There
is a low contribution of women in educational development due to lack of
mobilization.
b)
Improper
co-ordination of programme and policies is more of a factor leading to his poor
contribution of women in education development in the area than lack of
governmental encouragement.
c)
Religious
hindrance to the participation of women in education development activities
d)
Lack
of well designed women programme in educational development activities which
can arouse the interest of women in the local government mostly reduces women
contributions.
DEFINATION OF TERMS
Below are some of the terms associated with
the role of women in the development of education activities.
Community: this is a group of people living together,
sharing common interest and believes within a given geographic location.
Contribution: this is the roles and
effort being exerted to bring about the success of a particularly programme
Development: this is the
process where by a society is positively transforming in terms of its social
political and cultural terms from tradition to modern.
Impact:
this
is the effect whether positive or negative of action upon another
Basic literacy: this is the type of
education where one can be taught how to read, write and calculate simple arithmetic.
Functional
literacy: this is training people or people in basic
handcrafts like sawing, carving etc.
Community
development:
this is defined as the movement designed to promote better living for the whole
community with the active participation and on the ignition of the community. (
