There are various ideas on the most
profitable form of contribution which may be gain by accelerating rural
development. It has been stated that expenditure on bringing new knowledge to
pleasant farmers is the most productive investment which can be made in an
emerging countries. In the cause of most of the countries there is more local
councilor which was encouraged by their parents. After the independence there
began a system of diacritic rural nationalize. The system of election and
government laid emphasis on those who were popular in their locality and some
became not only members of their parliament but also ministers of state
exercising their limitless power in destine of their large communities.
Some of these powerful people of course came
from the rural areas and once again the young men, supported and interest in
polities as men of achieving power from wealth
and service to the communities on
might term this period the years of political revolution of Nigeria.
By coincidence the first group of Nigeria
went abroad for further Studies return as practicing lawyers. Many of them were
seen to make successful practice were natural influential and were known people
in the urban a d rural societies. Because of his apparent success of law as a
profession a large number of Nigerians, up to the early 1960 went abroad to
study law. It can be said that there was a profession revolution in favor of
the legal profession within the past few years there has been an increasing
awareness of the importance of the scientist in society and a number of
scientist have succeeded in making a substantial contribution to national
development and creating for themselves a special palace in the society.
This
is now followed by an increasing flow of student “revolution” no doubt the same
pattern is followed by many other countries in the developing world. The series
of event mentioned above perhaps suggest
that similar pattern could be serve in motion by creating period of
agricultural revolution during which agricultural work will then be expected to
follow although not strictly through educational means it seems that such a
period is a vital beginning for the development of the rural society in the
emerging countries.
Unlike the other types of nominal revolution
mentioned the agricultural revolution can not on it own accord take place. This
is national agricultural work pay ones attempt with only small measure of
success, was carried out in western Nigeria by organizing a number of farm
settlement centers.
In each group of young men interested in
agriculture were house and taught modern techniques of agriculture, but failure
to organize a large holding for individuals agricultural enterprises limited
its usefulness, it is important that the government makes a definite effects to organize large holding and
cooperative societies in addition to providing the basic agricultural
techniques to assure young men and women rural as well as urban areas that was
the case in success was carried out in western Nigeria by organizing a number
of farm settlement centers.
The politicians, lawyers, scientist and
agriculturalist can bring substantial return what has to be done may vary from
place to place but the best method for achieving this objective will still need
further study perhaps,( Malaises, 1966) .
