ROLES OF / WITHIN A COMMITTEE



As well as having general committee member positions, most committee also have office bearer positions which come with specific responsibilities. The most common office bearer positions are  
1.  Chairman,
2.  Treasurer,
3.  Secretary and
4.  Vice chairman (depending on the on the position of the constitution guiding the committee i.e. as it regards having a vice chairman).

MAIN DUTIES OF THE CHAIRMAN
1.  Assisting with the managerial direction of the organization.
2.  Planning and running meetings
3.  Acting as spokesperson/figure head.
MAIN DUTIES OF THE TREASURERS
1.  Keeping an over view of the finance of the committee
2.  Reporting into committee meetings
3.  Making sure that the committee has the right financial/policies and procedures in place.
MAIN DUTIES OF THE SECRETARY
1.  Supporting the administration of the organization
2.  Facilitating and supporting committee meetings.
