Staff nurse II/ Midwife II

By direct appointment of a candidate possessing an NRN or NCM certificate
Staff nurse I/ Midwife I

1.  By Promotion of an SN II/Midwife II in accordance with
     the regulations:
2.  By appointment of a candidate with any of these:
     (i)   a B. Sc.  (Nursing);
     (ii)  a an NRN plus NRM or SRN plus SCM plus at least
          3 years post-qualification experience.
All Nurse are required to register with the Nursing & Midwidery Council of Nigeria.
Nursing sister

1.  By promotion of an SN I/Midwife I in accordance with the
     regulations;
2.  by appointment of a candidate with any of these:
(i)  a B.SC. (Nursing plus at least 3 years post-registration cognate
     experience;
(ii)  an NRN plus NRM or SRN plus SCM plus at least 6 years post-
      registration cognate experience.
Senior Nursing
Sister

1.  By promotion of an NS in accordance with the Regulations;
2.  By appointment of  a candidate with any of these:
     (i)  a  B.Sc. (Nursing) plus at least 6 years post-registration
              cognate experience;
     (ii)  an NRN plus NRM or SRN plus SCM plus at least 9 years
            post-registration cognate experience.
Matron/Principal Nursing Superintendent

1.  By promotion of an SNS in accordance with the Regulations;
2.  By appointment of a candidate with any of these:
     (i)   a  B.Sc.  (Nursing) plus at least 9 years post-registration
                cognate experience;
     (ii)  an NRN plus NRM or SRN or SCM plus at least 12 years
            post-registration cognate experience.
Senior Matron/Assistant Chief Nursing Superintendent
12
1.  By promotion of a matron/PNS in accordance with the Regulations;
 2.  By appointment of a candidate with any of these:
      (i)  a B.Sc. (Nursing) plus at least 12 years post –registration
              cognate experience;
      (ii)   an NRN plus NRM or SRN plus SCM plus at least 15 years
             post-registration cognate experience.

Chief Matron  II /Chief Nursing Superintend II

By promotion of an SM/ACNS after an interview / examination and in accordance with the Regulations
PROPOSED  FOR HARMONIZATION
Chief Matron I /Chief Nursing Superintend I

By Promotion of A Chief Matron II/Chief Nursing Superintendent II with a B.Sc. Nursing or B.Sc. Public health or B. Sc. in allied courses
after an interview / examination and in accordance with the Regulations
