THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK OF MARITAL INSTABILITY

The theoretical framework that best explains the study is the conflict theory. The marriage system is not a stable system. There exist a lot of crises within it. At times, the husband and the wife will be in crises or the parents have crises with the child/children.

In the family, the husband/father, wife/mother and children are its parts which function to maintain the whole, a change in the function of one part affects the other parts and also the entire system, thereby causing disequilibrium in the system.

The role of the father may somehow conflict with that of the mother or children giving rise to conflict and at the end, there is a great effect on the children hence juvenile delinquency.
