LEGAL INSTRUMENTS FOR THE PREVENTION OF CYBER CRIMES IN NIGERIA



 Introduction:
It is often said (and it is partially true) that Nigeria has no cyber crime law. This chapter wills x-ray the above statement to know whether within Nigerian statute books, there could be found anything like cyber crime law. Hence, the chapter will discuss some relevant legislation in Nigeria aimed at the prevention of cyber crimes. The chapter also considers international laws and conventions made against cyber crimes. Lastly, the chapter considers challenges faced in the prosecution of cyber crimes in Nigerian and the relevance of the agencies set-up to combat such crimes.
