This
is some activities of micro finance
banks in my state:
1.
credit delivery
2.
boosting small scale
enterprise / agriculture
3.
employment
generation
credit delivery : this is perhaps one of the most
important roles of micro finance
banks as the loans extended are used to expand existing
businesses and in some cases to
start new ones.
According
to CBN (2008) micro finance loan granted to clients is
increasing from 2007 to
date and most of its goes to financing micro enterprises in rural areas ketu, (2008) observed that micro finance banks have
disbursed more than n800 million
micro credits to over 13 ,000 farmers across the country to empower their productive capacities. as such it is expected that agricultural output will increase with the
increase in finding. the
entrepreneurial capacity of the
farmers will this improve.
Boosting small scale enterprise / agriculture
About 60
percent of poor people in the
country live in rural areas and s 809
percent of them are farmers and artisans (NBS 2005)
micro-finance banks have
therefore been the main sources of funding to these disadvantaged groups.
Rural people are empowered through micro finance loans and services, and
hence small scale agricultural
practice and micro enterprise is developed
Governments
go into cooperatives to partner with the micro finance bnak to NSE bulk loans to be disbursed to the
beneficiaries, in so doing the banks are increasing and sustaining the number of people going into small business.
