Theoretical framework is an idea principles on which a
particular subject or study is based, rather than practice or experiment and is
used as basis for making judgment or decision. This decision is supported by
the theory propounded in Nursing by Calister Roy. The theory explains how an
individual interacts with or adapts with the changes in his environment. It is
based on the assumption that individual is a bio-psychosocial being,
interacting with the dynamic environment. Roy’s theory explains four mode of
adaptation. In the basic physiological needs, developing a
positive self
concept problem occurs which there is failure in the coping mechanism or
balance within these areas.
Adaptation is the process of responding to
satisfactorily coping with environmental changes however, this concept applied
that the adapted parent should be able to provide for the adopted children love
and basic physiological need for their wellbeing. They should build their
interactions with others toward positive aspects of life thereby preventing
loneliness and rejection from others.
Also on the other hand, the adopted children will be
able to adapt to the environment of the adapted parents and give them love and
obedience they require from them leading to foster goal achievement.
