Xenoliths Found In Nigeria


The outcrop is along Akwanga-Keffi road (Nassarawa State) about 28km away from Akwanga round about. The outcrop composes of bolders of quartz, micas and it shows evidence of pegmatite. Others are pure granite gneiss that has be metamorphosed.
        A diorite  mineral is found here which is associated with migmatite and it compose mainly of intermediate minerals (mafic)
example plagioclase, biotite, horneblend, muscovite and they are dark coloured with the grain size of medium to fine.
        The structures identified are joints,(Horizontal and vertical joints) quartzio – feldspathic veins, weak foliation and quartz veins. The measurement take at this location are;
        Thickness of quartzio-feldspathic vein
(1)    0.5cm – 1cm
Thickness of quartz vein – 2cm
