It is strongly recommend that the Government of
Nigeria should carry out an advanced exploration, evaluation and then
exploitation on the economic resources of the North central Basement complex of Nigeria
as a means of diversifying the national economy, hence, reducing over
dependence on oil revenue and then creating more job
to the teeming population
of unemployed Nigerian youths.
There should be legislation against
indiscriminate exploration and exploitation of the economic resources of the
Northcentral Nigeria Basement complex, for such indiscriminate activities
destroy the entire geology of the area, thereby creating serious environmental
problems such as slope failure, collapse of underground drives, etc, and
hindering of the future use of the Basement by the future geologists for
field studies.
The
bas map of the Northcentral Basement should be updated to accommodated current
locations and features of the area in the interest of field studies. Finally,
more materials on the mapped area should be made accessible in the department
library to students for the purpose of reporting and studies.
