APPLICATION OF MULTIPLE LINEAR REGRESSIONS ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE BLOOD PRESSURE AND THE WEIGHT AGE AND HEIGHT OF INDIVIDUALS



ABSTRACT
This research work covers the application of multiple linear regression on systolic blood pressure of 100 individuals. In the analyses, the regression equation  is as shown; Y=110 + 0.60x1+ 0 270x2+0.68x3 where it was observed that any change in the weight, age,, and height will lead to changed in the SBP. The regression shows linear relationship. Using computer software called MINITAB to analyze the data gotten from Federal Medical Centre Owo Ondo State, the following results were gotten. 

Weight contribute 4.8899 units to a damage in blood pressure when age and height are held fixed, Age contribute 5.3774 unit to a change in blood pressure when weight and height are held fixed and height contribute 0.88 4 unit to weight and height are held fixed and height contribute 0.884 unit to a change in blood pressure when weight and age are held fixed. All at α = 5% which now implies that weight and age contribute immensely to change in blood pressure when these factors (weight, age, height) are being considered.
