CHAPTER THREE
3.0          METHODOLOGY
3.1          Study Area.
               The research work will be in south western Nigeria, the region metamorphosed publicly from the colony and protectorate of southern Nigeria to Western Region, Western state, and today, it is made up of Ogun, oyo, Osun, Ekiti and Ondo state. Lagos protectorate, now Lagos state is part of the region. The region bounded in the North by Kwara and Kogi state, in the East, by Edo state, and in the West by Benin Republic. It is also define by longitude 3020’ and 60 20’ East and latitude 60 18’ and 90   11 North.

               The population of the six states put together is 27, 511, 992, (19.65%) of Nigeria. It is made up of 14,049,594 males and 13,462,398 females,(National population commission, 2006). The cities and towns are characterized by multiplicity of urban functions that have to do with Government and administration, tourism and recreation, research and education, marketing and sales and so on.
               Agribusiness activities (off-farm) are concentrated at cities and town of the study area such as processing, marketing, production, distribution, etc.
               They main farming activities are such as cassava, Yam rice, maize, millet, cowpea, okra, vegetable, cocoa, etc. and livestock production such as goat, sheep, cattle, poultry production, Fishery, crab, snail, Rabbit etc.

3.2          Sampling Techniques.
               The method of multi-stage sampling will be used. In the first stage, out of six (6) states, 3 states will be randomly selected for the study area.
               In the second stage, three (3) Universities will randomly selected from the three (3) states, given a total of nine. Purposively, one federal, one state and one private university will be selected     Finally stage, from the three (3) universities selected 15 Undergraduates of agricultural students will be randomly selected from each University, which will give a total of 135 undergraduates of agriculture for the study. 

3.3          Data Collection.
               Both primary and secondary data will be used for the study.
               The primary data will be collected by the use of questionnaires and oral interviews. The questionnaires will be administered to 135 undergraduates of agriculture (respondents). While secondary were collected from the existing information record such as journals, published and unpublished text books, News papers etc.

3.4          Data Analysis
               Based on the specific objectives of the study both descriptive and inferential statistics will be employed in the analysis of the data collected.
               Descriptive statistics such as frequency, distribution percentages, and tables will be used to analyze objective I, ii, and iii.
               Inferential statistics such as multiple regression analysis will be used to analyze objective (iv), while, objective (v) will be analyze using factor analysis.

3.5                   Model specification.
Multiple regression models is stated as:
