Introduction
The seraph which literally means the burning one’s are winged celestial angelic creatures that attend to God. As their implies in the Hebrew tongue, they have a “fiery” or a “dazzling appearance. They belong to the highest choir in the angelic hierarchy. They are caretaker’s of God’s throne, who are continuously singing before the throne. They are beings of pure dazzling light and are always in God’s presence, praising Him and communicating with Him and reconciling sinners to God.
The plural form of their name is “seraphim” while “seraph” or “serap” is the singular form.
Aim of the Study
·        To understand the word seraph
·        To understand the uniqueness of seraph
·        To defend the word seraph
·        To emulate the seraph above….

DISCUSSION
A BRIEF BIBLICAL DESCRIPTION OF THE ANGELS
·        They are God’s creation … colo 1:16, Rev 4:11
·        They are ministering spirits … Heb 1:7, 14
·        They can appear on earth to carry out specified divine assignments … eg... when Christ was born… Luke 2:8-16

A BIBLICAL DESCRIPTION OF THE SERAPH
·        They are angelic creatures in heaven that have six wings, which have specific functions … Isaiah 6:2, Rev. 4:8
·        They voice is powerful… Isaiah 6:3-4
·        They are in the midst of God’s throne in heaven i.e “round about the throne” Rev. 4:6
·        They are full of eyes in front and behind… Rev. 4:6
·        They have different forms, one is like a lion, another like a man, etc. Rev. 4:7

WHAT ARE THEIR FUNCTIONS IN HEAVEN?
·        Offering praise and worship to God, without resting…. Isaiah 6:3, Rev. 4:8
·        They lead heaven in praising God. Rev 4:9-11
·        Directing sinners to the ways of righteousness…... Isaiah 6:5-7

WHAT CAN WE LEARN FROM THEM?
·        Learn to praise God continuously.
·        Lead others/encourage others to praise God.
·        Always be involved in directing sinners back to the ways of righteousness.
·        All the wings of the seraphs have specific functions…..
Discover all your wings (i.e talents) and their functions and put them to use in doing God’s work.
·        Always be in God’s presence. Attend all the services of the church, pray without ceasing. The heavenly seraphs “rest not day nor night.” Be like them.
·        Sin will drive you away from God’s presence, like it did to Lucifer the devil. To be able to remain in God’s presence, the seraphim always have to see to it, beware of sin so you can continue to enjoy the joy of God’s salvation and the presence of God.
·        Have ‘eyes everywhere.” Have a far-sighted vision on the things that will bring revival/edify and build the church of Jesus Christ.
·        The seraphs are unique. They have different forms. One has the form of a man, another a lion etc. Be unique in the use of your gift and talents. Do not be a copy cat. Be yourself.
·        The voice of the seraphs is powerful. Always make decrees with faith in ‘Jesus’ name and it shall come to pass.

Conclusion
Note … we do not worship them like many have inferred and never have, rather, we join them to praise and serve God because at every point in time we start our worship, their own was already going on, non-stop in heaven. They should never be made objects of worship … Colo 2:18.
We have seen that the seraphim are caretakers of God’s throne, who are continuously singing before the throne. They are beings of pure dazzling light and are always in God’s presence, praising Him and communicating with Him. Like the seraphs, never get tired of worshiping God, we their earthly counterparts, who long to join them in serving God in heaven on the last day, should never get tired of running the heavenly race.
As we celebrate the 2013 seraphic anniversary it’s a season of praise, reconciling with God, praise God, worship Him, serve Him and learn to always talk to someone about Jesus. Reconcile others with Christ and see that you are reconcile with Him.
I pray God to give you the grace of living a pure, sanctified, spirit-filled life of serving Him in Jesus name
