FACTORS RESPONSIBLE FOR POOR ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN IZZI LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF EBONYI STATE


ABSTRACT
The purpose of the study is to find out the counselors views on the factors responsible for poor academic performance of secondary school students in Izzi local government area of Ebonyi  State. The population was draw from school counselors in the Local Government Area and the instrument used was questionnaire. It was found that level of qualified teachers and inadequate supervision of schools as well as parental and environmental influences contribute to poor academic performance, and based on this recommendation were made.
