A CRITICAL APPRAISAL OF THE INTRICACIES OF COMMERCIAL SEX AS A VICTIMLESS CRIME IN NIGERIA

ABSTRACT
The practice of commercial sex has slowly taken over many streets and cities in our country. This commercial sex practice was detested by God right from the very beginning when he destroyed the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah as recorded in the book of Genesis 19: 24-25. Furthermore, Apostle Paul in his epistle to the Corinthians emphasized that the human body is the temple of the Holy spirit and not for sexual sins. Prostitutes in the course of business, are exposed to all sorts of violence. They are easy targets to murder, rape and assaults. They are also exposed to various sexually transmitted
diseases. This long essay is divided into five chapters. Chapter I is the general introduction, chapter 2 is the literature review, chapter 3 provides for the theories and criminological perspective of prostitution, chapter 4 provides for the effects and laws in connection to prostitution, chapter five provides for the observations, recommendations and conclusions drawn from this work. This work also provides for the possible solutions to commercial sex practice in our country.
