DISCUSSION OF THE
FINDINGS, IMPLICATIONS,
RECOMMENDATIONS, SUMMARY AND CONCLUSION
This chapter discusses the results of the study based on the analyzed and presented data
in the preceding chapter. Also
discussed in this chapter are educational implication, recommendations,
limitations, suggestions for further study and summary.
Discussion
of the findings
The
discussion of the findings were analyzed as follows: in question one, what is the extent of availability f instructional resources in the NTI/NCE
study centers in Ebonyi State ? it was
clear
that there is disparity in the
number of agreed and disagreed on the availability of the
instructional materials.
It
is clear that some of the instructional materials like lecture
halls, course outline, course books, and audio cassettes are available whereas some other
instructional materials like, charts,
diagrams, library facilities,
shapes/models, language laboratories and
overhead projector are unavailable.
Question
two which is to what extent are the
available instructional resources
adequate? From the responses of the respondents, it is evidently clear that some instructional materials like course outline, course book and audio cassettes are available in adequate quantity
for teaching and learning whereas
lecturer halls, seats, charts, diagrams library faciltities, shapes /models, projectors are
inadequate for effective teaching
and learning for one NCE
programme of National teacher
Institute, Ebonyi State
Question, three
which is to what extent are the available instructional resources
utilized? From the information
gathered, available lecture halls, course outline, seats, course books, charts,
diagrams overhead projectors and audio cassettes are sufficiently, utilized while library
facilities,. Shapes models
and language laboratories are not even available to allow
for utilization.
Meanwhiles
since the questions have been tested and calculated, their
various percentages found from the tables, the researcher
can therefore conclude based on
responses from the various respondents
that some instructional materials
are, available, adequate and sufficiently utilized whereas
others are unavailable,
inadequate and not utilized as
detailed above
Educational
Implication of the finding of the study
The
questions have been tested and they responded positively. The
availability, adequacy and utilization of
some instructional materials like
course books, course outlines, seats lecture halls will aid effective teaching and learning. On the other hand, the unavailability, inadequacy
and unutilization of some instructional materials like library facilities
shapes and models, language laboratories will hinder
effective teaching and learning in NCE /NTI programme in Ebonyi State.
Conclusion
The
purpose of this research is to analyzed
the availability, adequacy and utilization of instructional resources
in the NCE, programme of national teachers institute in Ebonyi State.
A
review of the result of the research carried out showed that some
instructional resources are available adequate and sufficiently utilized in
NCE/NTI programme in Ebonyi State,
while some other are either
unavailability there will be improved
teaching and learning in the programme
if all the required,
instructional resources are made available adequate and
fully utilized, bearing in mind
that the programme is designed to
produce sound teachers that will train the Nigerian Children and the
future generation. This will equally assist in producing quality teachers.
