PROJECT: ORGANIZATIONAL POLITICS ON EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE: A STUDY OF NIGERIAN BREWERIES PLC ENUGU | PROJECT TOPIC



ABSTRACT
The objective of this study is to identify the human resources implications of  organizational  politics with a view to improving the management  and growth of the organization: a Study of Nigerian Breweries PLC Enugu. The study sought to identify how politics is perceived during  decision-making in Nigerian Breweries PLC. Also to measure the effect of politics on the performance of employees in Nigerian Breweries. The study also identified measures to improve the use and management of politics in decision making in the company. The literature Review was shared into two; the empirical and theoretical framework.
Conflict theory was used to express the importance of politics in organizations. Chi-squire statistical tool was used to analyze the data and prove the hypothesis formulated in chapter one of this study. The result of the findings from the analysis shows that the perception and management of organizational politics by managers and employees has impact on quality decision making, that politics has positive effect on employee’s performance and that the management of Nigerian Breweries PLC, are putting measures to improve the management of politics in the company. The researcher recommended open communication and involvement of employees in decision making, using reward instead of punishment to discourage negative political activities in Nigerian Breweries PLC, showing interest in political activities of the employees, acknowledging the efforts of the employee and diversifying their power sources. Based on the findings, the study concluded that politics is in every organization and demands direction and proper management to enhance productivity.
