Chief Bassiouni states that,
Terrorism is
an ideologically motivated strategy of internally prescribed violence designed
to inspire terror within a particular segment of a given society in order to
achieve a power outcome or to propagandize a claim or grievance, irrespective
of whether its perpetrators are acting for and unbehalf of themselves or
unbehalf of a state”.
Walter Laqurur’s definition is that,
Terrorism consist
the illegitimate use of force to achieve a political objective when innocent
people are targeted”.
James M. Poland in his definition states that,
Terrorism is
the premeditated, deliberate, systematic murder, mayhem and threatening of the
innocent, to create fear and intimidation in order to gain a political or
tactical advantage, usually to influence an audience”.
